Kona’s Story

Hi everyone! My name is Kona, and it means "little fox" in Japanese. I thought I'd introduce myself and tell you a little bit about how I became a part of Streetdog Foundation! I was born in January of 2023 and lived in the backyard of a house with other dogs until a nice man came to get me at the end of August. He gave me food and plenty of baths, but I was still really scared of all the change and ran away from him after a couple of days. I ran around the Cooper Young neighborhood for a day or two until my foster family found me over Labor Day weekend! It took me about two days, but boy, do I love it here! I LOVE playing with toys, running around the backyard, going on walks with my doggy foster siblings, and getting attention from my humans. I'm still a little scared of loud noises, but I know I'm safe now and will be okay.

From Kona's fosters: "Kona is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. She just wants to be loved and play. She's already learned how to walk on a leash, and we are currently teaching her how to potty outside and sleep in a crate. She is super smart and takes cues from our dogs like a champ. She's a 10-month-old shepherd mix, 45 lbs, spayed, and heartworm negative. Kona is ready to find her forever home!"
