Matty’s Story

Meet Matty! Matty was rescued by the same guardian angel who helped #sdfBabarBear, #sdfRella, and their pack of pups. As he was leaving a local hardware store (Matthew’s), he saw this sweet girl limping along on the side of the highway and scooped her up.

Yesterday, she was checked out by our friends at Grace, who, like her guardian angel, was quickly charmed by Matty’s sweet personality and soulful eyes. They estimate she’s about 3 years old and currently weighs about 43 pounds. They pulled a lot of ticks off of her, which isn’t surprising considering the time of year and the area. The wounds on her tail and ears are likely from a skin infection and will be treated with antibiotics and medicated baths. Her bloodwork results show that she is very heartworm positive, so she will need to begin treatment soon.

Matty is a very sweet girl and total love bug who loves meeting new people, riding in cars, snuggling, and giving kisses!
